Sister/Charge Nurse - WARD 46 Band 6 - 29 HOURSThis is an exciting time at Tameside Hospital. We currently have a vacancy on ward 46, where we look after patients with a variety of medical conditions. Predominately caring for endocrinology patients that have a variety of individualized health and social needs. We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Ward Sister / Charge Nurse, who is enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is ready for an exciting new experience to join a dynamic Team. This is an excellent development opportunity based on ward 46 .They will support the Unit Manager in the day to day running of the ward This will include together with the ward manager being responsible for the professional and clinical leadership of all the staff within the department, ensuring quality and high standards are delivered and patient safety is maintained.This is a key post with the successful candidate providing strong nursing leadership and management, whilst supporting the delivery of high standards of nursing care to our patients. We are looking for dynamic and innovative nurse leaders who role model excellent standards of nursing care that embody the behaviors and values of the trust.Main duties of the jobWithin ward 46 we aim to provide individualized care in a dignified and confidential manner identifying physical, social and psychological needs of patients and their families/carers. The patient's right to privacy will be respected and every effort will be made to maintain this.We will do this by working in a safe and secure environment where care needs are assessed, planned and implemented in partnership with all concerned - whilst at the same time respecting patients' rights as an individual, acknowledging individual beliefs and values, and supporting individual choices made.By using evidence based practice we aim to offer the highest standard of care in an environment that is conducive to learning where we support learners to acquire the necessary skills and competencies to carry out high quality patient care. Teaching and education for staff, patients and carers is an integral part of care delivery within our department.
