The Stock Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's inventory across multiple locations. This includes conducting daily floor checks, managing stock levels, ensuring the timely and accurate movement of materials, and coordinating with various departments to prevent stock shortages or excesses. The Stock Controller also plays a vital role in cycle counting, managing short shelf-life products, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
The role requires a proactive approach to stock management, strong communication skills to build relationships with warehouse and factory staff, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of stock records.Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Daily Operations:
  • Perform daily floor walks at designated locations (e.g., Corry and Ship St) to oversee stock levels and resolve immediate SOS RM issues.
  • Engage with warehouse and factory staff to ensure smooth stock operations and provide on-the-spot support.
  • Support with the booking in of goods in when required.
Cycle Counts:
  • Conduct and coordinate daily cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and address discrepancies.
  • Review feedback from cycle counts and conciliate stocks in M3 accordingly.
  • Put in place any preventative measures for stock management and accuracy.
Shelf-Life Management:
  • Manage and monitor short shelf-life finished products on monthly basis with a regular meeting with key stakeholders to minimise the quantity of items that can be used to go status 3.
  • Provide reports to customer service to help move products before they become out-of-date (OOD).
OOD Product Handling:
  • Prepare Monthly lists of out-of-date materials and finished goods that can be utilize for monthly review and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate reworking or disposal with relevant departments to ensure a list is followed and maintained up to date.
  • Ensure that any red tag material is actioned in a time frame that allows to serve on time to customers.
Packaging Supplies Management:
  • Conduct weekly checks on packaging supplies (e.g., labels, bags, big bags, wrapping materials, hoods, pallets sheet) across sites.
  • Update M3 accordingly to ensure continuous availability of packaging materials.
Stock Anomalies:
  • Identify stock anomalies and provide feedback to the respective teams to rectify issues and follow up corrective actions.
System and Records Management:
  • Update and maintain M3 with accurate and timely data.
  • Ensure records are prepared and available for audits, including Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) and other regulatory bodies.
Production Support:
  • Ensure that the correct materials are available at the correct locations as per production planning requirements.
  • Coordinate the timely movement of stock based on production schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Stock Counts and Reconciliations:
  • Organize and manage semesterly and yearly stock counts.
  • Perform reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of physical stock versus system records.
Audit Compliance:
  • Maintain documentation and records required for audit compliance.
  • Support audit processes by providing necessary inventory reports and records.
Procedure Adherence:
  • Follow and enforce company procedures related to stock control utilizing Factory Track.
  • Continuously improve stock management practices in line with company policies.
3rd Party Warehouses
  • Coordinate cycle counts in 3rd party warehouses to ensure stocks are accurate in M3.
  • Organize semesterly and yearly stock counts for 3rd party warehouses.
Training Operation Procedures for stock management
  • Review current and create new Standard operator procedures for stock control and management.
  • Support the business with training and implementation of any systems for inventory management.
