AP6021-25-175Do you have the skills to be part of a busy technical team, supporting a diverse range of laboratories across the sciences? Do you enjoy working proactively as both a member of a team and independently?The School of Applied Sciences is looking to appoint to the role of Assistant Technician (Full time, 37h/week). Technical staff are fundamental to the success of the University and in this role you will assist teaching and research by ensuring that laboratory spaces are constantly maintained, clean and tidy. The primary function of this roll will include the provision of a specialist glass washing service, the cleaning of specialist facilities and assisting with general tasks around the School to ensure a smooth service delivery.The School of Applied Sciences specialises in research and education in the fields of Biology, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Ecology and Conservation, Geography, and Environment. This diversity provides a rich environment to tackle global problems using multidisciplinary approaches. The School comprises of around 160 staff, including 32 technical staff, and 1200 students, studying on a range of courses from undergraduate to PhD level.The university provides both in-house and external training on a range of skills and topics, and we encourage the ongoing development of all staff members.
