🚐 Driving Required: Yes – includes van driving duties🛠️ Job OverviewWe're hiring a dependable and flexible Caretaker/Security Officer to support the day-to-day operations of council facilities. You'll help with cleaning, security, maintenance, and event support, while ensuring a friendly and professional service to the public.🔧 Key Responsibilities🧼 Clean buildings inside and out, including steps and pathways🔑 Open, close, and secure venues (keyholding & alarm callouts)🔥 Operate heating, lighting, and sound systems🪑 Set up rooms for events and monitor audiences🛎️ Supervise reception during peak times or staff absence🛡️ Manage security and stewarding during events🚨 Support or lead evacuation procedures and conduct fire tests🤝 Liaise with public and event organisers on-site🚚 Perform van driving and equipment delivery duties🏗️ Operate hoists and use safety harness systems (training provided)📋 Report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly🧭 Assist with general duties across other sites as needed📆 Working PatternRotating weekday shifts (no weekend work required):Shift 1: 8:00am – 3:30pmShift 2: 3:30pm – 11:00pmℹ️ Additional Information❌ Not eligible for flexi-time or TOIL🕰️ Alarm response duties required (24/7 on-call rota)🧾 Full training provided✅ Great opportunity for someone seeking varied and hands-on work across multiple venues
