Location: ScotlandContract: Casual, flexible shift-based model (academic term time only)Level: Entry-level (1.1)Salary: £12.60/hour, equivalent £23,400 FTERestrictions: We cannot offer visa sponsorship, and you must be able to work in the UKPrivacy: Please read our Uptree job candidate privacy notice here before submitting your application.Start date: Early OctoberDeadline to apply: Monday, 22nd SeptemberThe roleWhat will you achieve during the first year of this role?You will work across Uptree’s Outreach and Delivery and Commercial teams to support the successful delivery of school bookings and employer-led work experience days for young people. You will be presenting to young people aged 14-21, sharing information about Uptree’s work and our employer partners in school assemblies and workshops.At the work experience days, you’ll be the Uptree representative, ensuring the employer and young people in attendance have positive experiences.When not attending bookings and events, you’ll work remotely, supporting the Outreach and Delivery and Commercial teams.You will be onboarded as part of a small cohort, receiving full training on all internal processes. There is potential opportunity for long term employment in the future but this is not guaranteed.We’ll plan your hours collaboratively a minimum of one month in advance. This means you can choose to work more or less hours depending on your other responsibilities.What will you do?
  • Regular independent travel to schools and employer venues (travel expenses covered)
  • Deliver educational assemblies and workshops to students, promoting Uptree’s upcoming events
  • Host work experience events at employer venues for students aged 14–21
  • You will be the ‘face of Uptree’ at our events - interact with professionalism and warmth with young people, teachers, careers leads, and employers, to provide a positive experience with Uptree and encourage ongoing engagement
  • Complete impact reports after employer events using collected data and feedback
  • Carry out relevant administrative tasks promptly, including communication with schools and employers
  • Capture photos and videos at employer events to support the Marketing team
  • Share information, ideas, and feedback from school bookings and employer events to enhance future practices and efficiency
  • Follow safeguarding best practices at all times during Uptree events

  • Strong administrative skills – attentive to detail and understands the importance of recording up-to-date, accurate information in a timely manner
  • Excellent organisation – proactive and able to independently manage time, meet varied tasks and deadlines, and ensure travel, arrival times, admin tasks, and event preparation are handled efficiently
  • Professional and reliable – consistently represents Uptree in a positive, responsible manner and takes ownership of being the face of the organisation at events
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to build rapport quickly with a wide range of stakeholders and motivate and engage young people, education contacts, and employers
  • Uses initiative – demonstrates flexibility and problem-solving skills when working on projects; stays calm and solutions-focused when plans change or unexpected challenges arise
  • Open to learning – welcomes feedback and actively seeks ways to improve event delivery and personal development

  • Full driving licence and ability to drive to remote locations (particularly for roles in NE, NW or Scotland).

  • Step 1: Initial phone call with the hiring manager. This tends to last around 30 minutes.
  • Step 2: Panel interview and presentation. You’ll have a video interview with a cross-section of our team, lasting around 45 mins to 1 hour, inclusive of a presentation based task. More information will be provided when you reach this stage.
