
Estimating Manager

- Lead the estimating function and ensure that contract requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
- Lead and develop a team of Estimators across various disciplines, as required, to
- Carry out costing of opportunities personally, where required.
- Ensure that the estimating processes are consistently applied across the contract, participating in the development of those processes when required.
- Support the Commercial Team in achieving its contract obligations.
- Ensure that identified risk and opportunity is managed as part of the pricing process.
- Supervise and provide commercial & technical advice to Estimators and sense check cost updates to ensure the technical and cost submissions are in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
- Assist with or prepare documentation for submission to the customer.
- Ensure that considered responses are produced to customer generated
- Develop and maintain a project cost database and keep acuate records for
- Provide reports and statistics to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with the Business Management System.
- Ensure focus on customer requirements and manage customer contact during the execution of the contract.
- Seek to understand, lead the development of and implement the appropriate digital toolsets to execute cost take-off and other estimating activities.
- Ensure that cost planning and estimating are accurate and reflect the project

- Support the delivery of BBK's Sustainability activities.
- Strong track record of leading and managing an estimating team and of estimating projects, within the MEP industry.
- Membership of a relevant professional body and/or a relevant professional
- Working knowledge of best practice solutions and optimisation of innovative ideas and an understanding of the principles of Lean Construction and 5D cost planning is desirable.
- An understanding of BIM and how to read and assemble BIM models and produce appropriate reports from them is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the entire supply chain. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential, as is a flexible attitude to deal with a variable and demanding workload. It is important to be a strong team player, but also able to work on own initiative.
