Estimating Manager

• Lead the estimating function and ensure that contract requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.

• Lead and develop a team of Estimators across various disciplines, as required, to

• Ensure that the estimating processes are consistently applied across the contract, participating in the development of those processes when required.

• Support the Commercial Team in achieving its contract obligations.

• Ensure that identified risk and opportunity is managed as part of the pricing process.

• Supervise and provide commercial & technical advice to Estimators and sense check cost updates to ensure the technical and cost submissions are in accordance with the requirements of the contract.

• Assist with or prepare documentation for submission to the customer.

• Strong track record of leading and managing an estimating team and of estimating projects, within the MEP industry.

• Membership of a relevant professional body and/or a relevant professional

• Working knowledge of best practice solutions and optimisation of innovative ideas and an understanding of the principles of Lean Construction and 5D cost planning is desirable.

• An understanding of BIM and how to read and assemble BIM models and produce appropriate reports from them is desirable.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the entire supply chain. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential, as is a flexible attitude to deal with a variable and demanding workload. It is important to be a strong team player, but also able to work on own initiative.
