246308Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Family Support Worker to work full time for Tyre Hill House, based in Malvern.The salary for this Senior Family Support Worker job is up to £32,000 per annum.Main duties:
  • In line with the Family Assessment Plans, provide families with support on every aspect of daily life, health and wellbeing to include basic baby care, feeding and eating, sleeping, budgeting, safety, discipline, routines, healthy eating, healthy lifestyle choices.
  • To ensure the safety and welfare of children remains central to the assessment/intervention process.
  • To observe, supervise and record family interaction, child behaviour, parental motivation and parental ability to meet the needs of the child.
  • To provide a positive role model to family support workers by sharing experience, learning and knowledge. This will involve being approachable and open to challenge.
  • To provide day-to-day support and guidance to staff, reporting incidents and concerns to manager, contacting on-call support out of hours and contacting emergency services when and if required.
  • To mentor, support and coach family support workers to ensure consistent high standards of care and practice are embedded throughout the service.
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents and other family members and professionals including GPs, health visitors and local authority social workers.
  • To ensure that all documentation is completed and is evidence-based, providing clear reflection of the circumstances and presenting issues.
  • To provide structured feedback to parents during and at the end of each session.
  • To work with parents sensitively and in a non-judgemental manner, using communication skills when challenged.
  • To plan and prioritise workload within established timeframes, ensuring written records are kept up to date.
  • Where required, to assist in childcare duties to enable parents to access individual group sessions.
  • To maintain and develop up to date relevant skills and knowledge of current legislation and policies. Identify learning and development needs through supervision and appraisals.
  • To attend and actively make use of supervision and appraisal meetings.
  • To undertake training as the Registered Manager deems necessary and to complete this training in a diligent manner.
  • To maintain a safe environment, the fabric of the building, its grounds and equipment complying with health & safety and other legal requirements.
  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
Requirements of this Senior Family Support Worker:
  • To have, or be prepared to work to achieve at least NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma in line with completion of probationary period.
  • Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal skills.
  • Sound IT skills – including Microsoft Office and computer-based record keeping systems.
  • Ability to listen and observe interactions between parents and their children.
  • Ability to plan, record and evaluate through recording and written reports.
  • Ability to prioritise workload of staff, self, and shift requirements.
