
In-House Legal Counsel

- Minimum 2-3 years of post-qualifying legal experience or completing a para-legal training. Prior in-house experience in a commercial entity would be an advantage
- The candidate must be efficient, positive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and must be keen to learn. The candidate must have strong communication skills (including but not limited to having strong drafting skills, ability to clearly and concisely explain concepts) and to be able to see the bigger picture by providing commercially sound advice
- Assist the Head of Legal and legal team in the day-to-day responsibilities
- Draft various commercial agreements, including distribution, supply, agency, consultancy, sourcing agreements and service contracts
- Support the negotiation and execution of a variety of commercial contracts
- Draft and update the Company`s internal policies and regulations and monitor their compliance with the effective legal provisions
- Provide legal and professional support to the management and company directors on a range of legal matters when required
- Advise on general commercial contracts across the business
- Ensure that the relevant documents are filed in Legal Department database / library / folders.
- Maintain and update database of all existing agreements and legal library
- Maintain and update the HR folders (where required)
- Report regularly to the Group CEO / Director on project status and participate in team meetings (including coordination with other Group businesses)
- Carry out HR tasks including but not limited to drafting employment documents, liaising with external counsels, assisting in redundancy, disciplinary and other employment related proceedings.
- Undertake roles and responsibilities of an HR Associate
- Provide legal review regarding commercial contracts / terms and conditions and advise on legal risk in respect of the above
- Ensure Company`s / Group Companies ‘processes and policies are adhered to
- Up to £40,000 (depending on qualifications & experience)
- 25 days of annual leave + bank holidays
- Additional days holiday between Christmas and New Year if the Directors decide to close the business
- Standard working hours 9 to 5:30 - 30 min lunch = 40 hours a week
