
PRU Teaching Assistant

- Support students who have been referred from mainstream schools due to behavioural or emotional difficulties
- Work closely with small groups or 1:1 to provide tailored academic and pastoral support
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to implement individual learning and behaviour plans
- Help students build self-esteem, manage behaviour, and re-engage with learning
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that supports emotional growth and academic progress
- Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education
- Calm, patient, and adaptable, with a strong presence and positive attitude
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
- Experience working with students with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in PRU/alternative settings is desirable
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or care are an advantage but not essential
