Salary: £34,000 per annum (£16.79/hour) + Overtime (£25.18/hour)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 7:45am – 6:00pm, Monday to Thursday (39 hours/week)
Overtime: Fridays – paid at time and a half
Holidays: 29 days per year (including bank holidays)Job Overview:We are urgently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a busy production site in Crewkerne, Somerset. This is a mechanical and electrical maintenance role, working on:
- Modern Injection Moulding Machines
- Compression Moulding Presses
- Ancillary manufacturing equipment
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on moulding machinery and plant equipment
- Fault find and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns
- Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Support machinery upgrades, installations, and continuous improvements
- Carry out PAT testing and site safety checks
- Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed at all times
- Experience with Injection and Composite Moulding Presses
- Time-served or qualified electrician
- Strong mechanical maintenance background
- Pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge
- Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
- Forklift licence (advantageous)
- Practical, hands-on engineer with good problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proactive attitude with a strong focus on safety and quality
- Reliable and able to support a busy production environment
