Job descriptionSEN Outreach Tutor (Ealing)ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYProspero Teaching is seeking a Qualified or Experienced SEN Tutor to provide bespoke, 1:1 educational support to young people in Ealing who are currently not attending mainstream education.This is an ideal opportunity for a passionate tutor or experienced teacher who is looking to deliver tailored, engaging lessons outside the traditional classroom setting. You will be responsible for identifying learning gaps, planning targeted sessions, and re-engaging students many of whom may have additional needs and have been out of formal education for an extended period.Building trust and boosting your pupils’ confidence will be key, alongside helping them establish structure and motivation in their learning journey. Prospero Teaching will provide ongoing support and guidance to help you track and enhance each student’s progress.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
  • Location – Ealing and surrounding areas
  • Position – SEN Outreach Tutor
  • Type of work – Individualised tuition sessions (1:1)
  • Start date – ASAP
  • Duration / Likely Duration – Variable, depending on the individual pupil’s needs
  • End date (if applicable) – N/A
  • Contract type – Temporary
  • Full time/part time – Flexible; both full-time and part-time hours available
  • Minimum rate of pay – From £25 per hour
  • Hours – Minimum 1 hour per session, up to 3 hours per session (multiple sessions per day available)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs is desirable
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a UK school or tutoring role
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (can be provided if required)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
  • Provide two recent, child-related references covering the last two years
