Setting: Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
Pay: £13.75 - £14.50p/h
Hours:Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 3:30pmFriday: 8:30am – 2:30pm

An established and supportive Secondary PRU in East Lancashire is seeking a proactive and resilient Behaviour Support Mentor to work closely with students aged 11–16 who have been excluded from or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. This rewarding role requires patience, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to helping young people re-engage with learning.Key Responsibilities:Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with challenging behaviour.Foster positive relationships and act as a consistent, supportive role model.Assist in delivering intervention sessions focused on behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement.Support classroom staff with behaviour management strategies and re-engagement plans.Help de-escalate challenging situations and promote restorative practices.Requirements:Experience working in a PRU, alternative provision, or similar behavioural setting.Strong communication and emotional regulation skills.Confident, calm, and consistent under pressure.Sound knowledge of safeguarding and positive behaviour strategies.Background in youth work, psychology, or education is advantageous.If you are interested in this position, please click apply now and you will be contacted within 48hours to discuss next steps.
