Toolmaker / Pattern Maker required to work for manufacturing company based in the Bedford area.Duties include:
Production of moulds to customer specifications
Maintaining moulds and tools to a high standard
Pattern making from a variety of materials such as - wood, modelling board, metals
Mould Production using resin/ casting
Welding ,pinning ,polishing and painting product
Repair and alteration of moulds
Problem solving
Maintain workshop
Work with other departments within the production process
Skills required:
Ability to interpret technical drawings
Able work with a variety of materials including wood, metals and resins (epoxy, polyurethane, polyester)
Safely operate variety of tools and machinery, including saws, planes, lathes, mills and welding equipment.
knowledge of safe working practices
Problem solving skills, able to identify problems and propose solutions in the production of new moulds and repair or adjustment of existing moulds.
Good communication skills, able to work effectively with others.
