Job Type: Full time, permanentJoin some of the most exciting engineering projects in the UKgap personnel are looking for skilled Fabricators to join our clients team working across multiple business areas at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. This could mean working directly on Royal Navy warships, submarines, or supporting these complex projects within our advanced manufacturing facilities.What you’ll be doingAs a Fabricator, you'll:
  • Undertake structural repairs and modifications on a variety of metal structures and thicknesses.
  • Manufacture and fabricate modules according to detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Work safely and efficiently, contributing to some of the most unique marine engineering projects in the country.
This role is ideal for candidates with a background in marine engineering, especially those who have experience working on Royal Navy ships, submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels, or large commercial ships. However, relevant experience from other engineering sectors will also be considered.What we’re looking for
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Competence in using general workshop tools and fabrication machinery.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
Desirable experience
  • Previous work in a marine engineering environment.
  • Time-served apprenticeship in marine or naval engineering.
Qualifications (one of the following):
  • Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to fabrication.
  • Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in sheet metal, structural steel, or a related discipline.
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification relevant to fabrication.
Working hours & Pay:
  • 35hours per week, 7 hours per day.
  • £15.43ph
