Now is an exciting time to join us as we embark on this exciting, transformational journey.About the roleAbout the roleBased at the Port of Grangemouth this is a great opportunity for an Electrician to join our busy Engineering team to play an integral role in our day to day engineering operations whilst advancing their career within the industry. This role will involve you working with a wide range of machinery and plant equipment across the Port, where no two days will be the same.Some of your main responsibilities will include:Maintenance, repair and fault finding of electrical systems within the Port; including, ship to shore cranes, straddle carriers, distribution networks and lock gate infrastructure.Installation and maintenance of LV electrical distribution systems, lighting systems and control circuits.Undertake training as an Authorised Person for operating and maintaining HV distribution equipment.Develop an in depth working knowledge of plant equipment and associated drawings in order to minimise downtime when repairs are required.Report any damage or misuse to Supervisory staff and liaise with operational staff to inform of timescales for repairs.What are we looking for?You will need to be a time served qualified Electrician who has previous experience working within an industrialised environment. Knowledge of AC/DC control systems, PLC's and HV/LV would also be advantageous.Our working environment comprises quaysides, warehouses and other Port buildings therefore the ability to work at height, in confined spaces and in an outdoors setting is essential.Your hours will be 37.5 per week working a partial shift system involving day and rotational shifts as part of a shift roster.   • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant electrical qualification
  • Relevant Health and Safety training
  • Demonstrated experience in heavy engineering environment
  • Experience of maintenance and repair of DC motor control equipment, AC motor starting equipment, 12/24 v DC control systems, automotive repairs, PLC controls, HV and LV network experience, LV cable joining
  • Driving licence essential
