
Support worker (Unable to provide Sponsorship)

- Provide emotional, physical, and social support tailored to the individual needs of service users.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Encourage and support individuals in participating in community activities, hobbies, and social events.
- Work with service users to set and achieve personal goals.
- Encourage skill development in areas such as budgeting, cooking, and self-care.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of service users at all times.
- Administer medication (where required) and follow health care plans.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents in a calm and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and other professionals involved in the care of service users.
- Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality care and share best practices.
- Attend training and team meetings as required.
- Genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
- Previous experience in a similar role or within the care sector.
- Knowledge of person-centered approaches and positive behaviour support.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities.
