We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Garth. HMP Garth is a category B Prison located in Ulnes Walton, Lancashire. Housing around 800 male patients aged 21+. Within this role you will be working with an established Pharmacy team delivering clinical screening, structure medication reviews, and be involved in audits and pharmacy project work. You will work closely with the wider multi disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a successful pharmacy service for all patients.This is a non dispensing pharmacy, ideal applicant would have an independent prescriber qualification.HoursMonday to Friday 8am-4pmSalaryThis is a full time role with a salary between £49,848 and £55,941 per annum depending on experienceInterview will be conducted on 19th SeptemberHow will we support you?

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksWhat you'll be doingAs the Clinical Pharmacist your responsibilities will vary. You will:
  • Ensure the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service
  • Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring a safe and modern medicines management services
  • Lead a team of Pharmacy technicians

  • Registered Pharmacist - holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy including pre-registration training
  • Relevant post qualification

Prior to joining Practice Plus Group I spent almost 10 years working in community, but I have found that the prison environment is where I feel I can utilise my skills and truly make a difference. I see patients with complex health issues, I help keep them informed about their medication and support out-patients in managing their conditions day to day.
