About STEP NOWSTEP NOW is an emerging youth organisation with a mission to equip young people aged 11-25 with the knowledge to make better choices earlier in life. We do this by educating, mentoring and empowering them with the best life tools to STEP into adulthood.SAFE Taskforce OverviewThe Lambeth SAFE Taskforce is a community-led initiative focused on creating a safe and supportive environment for children and young people in Lambeth. It aims to help young people take positive control of their lives and futures, particularly those at risk of involvement in serious youth violence. The taskforce is part of Lambeth Council's broader efforts to tackle serious youth violence and promote safety within the borough. This includes school based mentoring support as well as our Barbershop Experience programme. The is an innovative and culturally responsive programme created to support Black boys in secondary schools aged 12-14 who may be at risk of exclusion, low academic engagement, or social isolation. Delivered in a purpose-built pop-up barbershop space within schools, the programme provides a safe, familiar environment where young people can explore identity, emotions, and personal development. A core element of the Barbershop Experience is the integration of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) informed practices.
