We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team at a leading manufacturing site in Belfast. This role is critical in managing and maintaining site facilities, plant services, and systems, while driving improvements and cost reductions. You will play a key part in ensuring statutory compliance, supporting sustainability initiatives, and enhancing operational efficiency across the site.Key Responsibilities
- Support the management and maintenance of site facilities, including electrical, mechanical, fire safety, cranes, forklifts, and other plant equipment.
- Coordinate statutory inspection contracts and ensure full compliance with legislative requirements.
- Manage and monitor service contracts (e.g. water, compressors, heating, waste management, equipment calibration).
- Conduct risk assessments, identifying and addressing safety and environmental hazards.
- Liaise with suppliers and government agencies regarding audits, permits, reporting, or grants.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption, minimise waste, and drive environmental performance.
- Prepare technical specifications, evaluate tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to senior management.
- Contribute to internal audits, continuous improvement projects, and efficiency initiatives.
- Proven experience in facilities, maintenance, or engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, liaise with external contractors, and deliver cost-effective solutions.
