Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for a Electro Mechanical Fitter on a permanent basis for our client based in Telford.HoursMonday - Thursday - 8:30am - 5:15pmFriday - 8:30am - 12:30pmPay£28,000 - £32,000 per annum dependent on experienceDescription and key responsibilities as an Electro Mechanical Fitter:
  • Assemble precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures using mechanical and electrical components
  • Work collaboratively within a skilled team of engineers, fitters, and wiremen
  • Build complete machines from component level to finished product
  • Proficient in bench fitting and mechanical assembly
  • Able to make minor adjustments using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders
  • Skilled in using measurement tools (e.g., DTI, gauge blocks) to check geometric tolerances
  • Experienced in assembling pneumatic systems and interpreting pneumatic schematics
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
  • Able to read and work from detailed engineering and assembly drawings
  • Competent in electrical panel wiring and reading electrical/electronic schematics
  • Basic understanding of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems is a plus
  • Capable of fault-finding on DC control systems
Qualifications and skill required as an Electro Mechanical Fitter:Essential Qualifications:
  • Engineering Level 3 qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
  • HNC in Engineering is a plus
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Able to read technical drawings and carry out fault finding
  • Comfortable working alone or in a team
  • Reliable and hard-working
  • Goal-driven and focused
  • Confident and professional
  • Friendly, committed, and team-oriented
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment, under pressure and to time scales
  • Working hours flexibility
