JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Factory Operations ManagerLocation: BurtonReports to: Site DirectorMain Job Purpose:As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for achieving site performance standards, lead the team, drive continuous improvement and strive for the highest standards of safety and quality across all aspects of the factory. You will have a strong background within a similar environment where you have successfully led a large operation, demonstrating leadership capability built on providing clear focus and direction. You will have proven experience building strong partnerships, which in turn inspires delivery, ensures accountability, and creates a culture focused on both sustainable and continuous improvement.RESPONSIBILITIES:You will be accountable for successfully managing a high volume, flexible manufacturing operation on a day-to-day basis achieving all key metrics related to performance, customer service, safety and quality. In addition to ensuring the delivery of the site master plan.Managing the operations of the factory - including Raw and Pack material management and focus on continually improving yields and performance through the development of people, systems and effective utilization of capital investment.Managing and responding on factory service levels, efficiencies, quality compliance, OSHE compliance and cost complianceLeading improvement programs leveraging and best practice approaches by identifying new safety techniques, quality initiatives and cost saving and development opportunities to improve factory performancePlaying a key part in supporting the implementation of innovation within the factory and deliver to agreed ramp up plansDriving and inspiring the team, with a clear focus on team development and driving a performance cultureManaging any issues in line with HR policies and procedures including managing employee relations to ensure high engagement levels in unitYou will focus on the bigger picture, understanding and reacting to the wider needs of the business versus those of the plantBuilding strong relationships across all levels within UK & internationally, supporting continuous improvement culture, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders and ensuring best practice implementationYou will have a passion for safety and promote a speak up cultureALL ABOUT YOU:Significant experience in delivering a highly efficient production operation to the required levels of quality, hygiene and safety(Fast Moving Consumer Goods) FMCG experienceStrong leadership experience demonstrating proven ability of developing and inspiring a team towards delivery and continuous improvementPrevious experience is managing large teamsAbility to coach othersAbility to deliver through othersSomeone who does what is promised, demonstrates a speak up culture and has a high action for biasSomeone who thinks end to end and has the ability to find win win solutions – removes silo’s and with a ‘Win and Lose together’ mindsetProven experience of creating clear focus and direction accompanied with empowerment and holding teams accountable for deliveryAbility to be able to think creatively to solve problems and overcome barriers and obstacles whilst dealing with conflict with a diplomatic approachProven experience in applying Lean, WCM or TPM methodologies within an industry environmentProven experience operating within a unionised environment with demonstrated ability of building strong and sustainable relationshipsIdeal candidate with have knowledge of digitalisation within a factory environmentProfessional Skills:Bachelor’s degree or above in an Engineering discipline or equivalent demonstrable experienceProven experience in Operations Management and Customer delivery with excellent performance recordDemonstrable experience of leadership and delivering through others
