Job Description :Overview:We are working on behalf of an established utility contractor to recruit a Business Development Manager to support growth in the Industrial & Commercial (I&C) connections market. The role focuses on identifying and winning work across DNO and ICP contracts, delivering new connections from LV up to 33kV across the South of England.This is a strategic and client-facing role that will suit a commercially driven professional with a background in utilities, power infrastructure, or connections.Key Responsibilities:Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across I&C connectionsBuild and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, and DNO/ICP clientsSupport the full lifecycle of business development, from lead generation through to tendering and negotiationCollaborate with pre-construction, design, and operational teams to ensure client requirements are metContribute to bid submissions and pricing strategiesMonitor market trends and competitor activity to identify areas for growthAttend client meetings, site visits, and industry networking events as requiredRequirementsRequired Experience:Proven experience in a business development or client-facing role within utilities, energy, or infrastructureStrong knowledge of I&C electrical connections and the DNO/ICP marketAbility to understand and communicate technical and commercial requirements confidentlyTrack record of winning work across power projects, ideally from LV up to 33kVFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South of EnglandDesirable Skills:Existing network of clients and developers in the utility or energy sectorExperience working with regulated connections and understanding of relevant industry standardsAbility to work independently, with strong commercial awareness and negotiation skillsBenefitsOur client does not currently offer sponsorship, UK applicants only.
