- Owning the EMEA payroll accounting and reporting, working with the business to improve, streamline and automate the payroll accounting processing.
- Regular communication and collaboration with the payroll, HR and operation teams.
- Work within project teams to integrate new processes and systems to automate and improve financial controls across the EMEA entities.
- Liaise with overseas European offices and Miami head office.
- Responding to queries and requests for analysis from the business including; analysis and extracting data from systems to produce summaries and highlighting significant areas of interest.
- Liaising with the external statutory auditors on queries relating to payroll related matters.
- Ensure process notes are documented and updated regularly.
- Other ad hoc duties and project work to improve the overall accuracy and efficiency within the finance department.
- Meeting the monthly close timetable and ensuring allocated journal entries are recorded accurately within a timely manner.
- Recording the monthly payroll entries for EMEA entities within the financial accounting system.
- Monthly monitoring and processing of payroll related accruals and prepayments.
- Legal entity ownership of payroll related entities. This will include monthly reviews and investigation to resolve differences, journal accrual entries and monitoring of invoices to ensure the timely accurate financial reporting within the legal entities.
- Liaising with the AP team and monitoring the accurate coding of payroll related payments.
- Monthly review and monitoring of the payroll schemes balance sheet balances to ensure accuracy of amounts reported.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the payroll areas.
- Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a minimum of 2:1 grade.
- High technical accounting skills including; IFRS, UK and US GAAP.
- Experience of
- implementing process improvements.
- analysis of data, identifying and then resolving issues.
- using Microsoft Excel to an advanced level.
- The ability to:

- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
- A proactive ‘can do’ attitude with a high level of energy.
- Experience of Oracle
- Language proficiencies, particularly German (also Italian, French).
- Experience gained within a global organization and in supporting internationally based offices.
- Energy industry experience.
