SEND HLTA – Secondary School (Birmingham, near Harborne)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: 4 days per week (Thursdays & Fridays essential, plus 2 negotiable days)
Hours: 8:15am – 4:15pm (30 hours per week)Connex Education are working with a small, welcoming outstanding mainstream secondary school in the Harborne area of Birmingham who are seeking a SEND HLTA to join their team as soon as possible. This position is to cover maternity leave and offers a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a supportive Learner Support Department.The RoleSupport and contribute to the development of the school’s Learner Support provision under the direction of the SENDCo/SEND Lead PractitionerShare responsibility for the smooth, day-to-day running of a busy SEND departmentDeliver bespoke interventions and support students with SEND needs, particularly those with social, emotional, and/or mental health needsLiaise with parents, local authority agencies, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for studentsRequirementsExperience working with SEND students, particularly those with SEMH needsStrong background in supporting secondary-aged studentsExperience working with parents, agencies, and delivering targeted interventionExcellent reliability and attendanceDesirableHLTA or Level 3 TA qualificationExperience using Microsoft packages, CPOMs, or similar systemsRecent safeguarding trainingExperience managing or leading TAs in a secondary settingWhy Apply?Immediate start in a supportive and friendly school environmentOpportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young peopleFlexible working pattern (4 days per week, with some negotiable days)If you are an experienced HLTA with a passion for supporting SEND students, we’d love to hear from you.
