We're here to share that know-how and do our bit to help the roofing industry thrive.We are looking for a reliable and efficient Trade Counter & Yard Assistant to join our branch in Derby who will provide first class customer service to all customers 'over the counter,' and undertake Yard Operative duties as and when required.What's the role?We're looking for a reliable and efficient Trade Counter & Yard Assistant to join our Derby branch. In this dynamic and customer-facing role, you'll be the welcoming face of SIG-supporting our Trade Counter operations while also stepping into the Yard to help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.What you'll be doing:
  • Greet and serve customers at the Trade Counter and over the phone
  • Take and process customer orders, offering product advice when needed
  • Help with deliveries-loading/unloading vehicles at the branch
  • Accurately store and pick goods in the warehouse and yard
  • Sign for deliveries, report stock issues, and maintain stock records
  • Keep the yard and warehouse clean, organised, and safe
  • Assist with stocktaking and support overtime when required
  • Operate forklifts and mechanical equipment safely (training provided if needed)
What you'll bring:
  • A friendly and professional approach with a passion for customer service
  • Sales experience and confidence speaking with customers
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse processes and manual handling
  • Previous experience in the construction industry (preferred but not essential)
  • A forklift licence (desirable-we'll support training if needed)
  • A proactive, positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed
