Monitor and collect a range of debts in relation to Housing Services, e.g. former tenant arrears, rechargeable repairs, leaseholder accounts.
Work with, support and monitor performance of other colleagues and partners who collect debt on behalf of the Housing Service e.g. rent payments. Negotiate debt repayments.
About you:- able to manage own workload.- able to handle and share confidential and sensitive information in accordance with data protection & GDPR.- commitment to public service- knowledge of Universal credit and other benefits.- knowledge of County Court judgements- professional approach to collecting and chasing debt.What you will do:- monitor and chase debts owed to the Housing Service.- monitor the Department of Work & Pensions portal in respect of Universal Credit.- provide support and assistance to Housing Officers & Financial Support Officers in order to sustain tenancies & to encourage 'Rent First' approach.- set up debt recovery agreements that are effective balanced & realistic.- assist Senior Income Management Officer in undertaking regular audits of current rent arrears.- recommend cases for further action including legal action where payments are unsatisfactory.
