
Consultant Physician in Genitourinary and HIV Medicine

- Entry on the GMC Specialist register for GU Medicine via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) CESR or European Community rights
- MRCP or Equivalent
- Basic Medical Qualification registrable in UK
- Diploma in GU Medicine
- Management Training
- Appropriate Higher degree (eg MSc, MD / PhD)
- Teaching qualification appropriate to sexual health e.g. Faculty registered trainer, STIF trainer
- Research/publications in sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS /Contraceptive/Reproductive Health and other aspects of Sexual Health
- MFSRH
- Diploma in HIV Medicine
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent patient communication
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and to delegate responsibilities and supervise staff
- Ability to undertake robust audit within team structure
- Ability to motivate and inspire a multi-disciplinary team and work sensitively within teams.
- Management of Sexually transmitted infections
- Contraception, Sexual and reproductive Health
- Knowledge and principles of resource and budget management
- Understanding importance of clinician in management
- Clinical experience in other aspects of women's sexual health i.e. vulval disease, psychosexual counselling, etc.
- Awareness of core values of NHS in its modern structure
