Job Category: TechnicalDegree Level: No qualificationsJob Description:Job Posting Title: Skilled Grounds Assistant at OriamGrade and Salary: Grade 5 (£26,707 - £30,378)FTE and working pattern: Full time role (35 hours, 1 FTE), the rota will be designed for 5 days over 7 in a flexible format to meet the Football & Rugby schedule & fixturesShift pattern work - Summer & Winter working hours aligned to the football & rugby season & fixturesPurpose of Role: Skilled Grounds Assistant will be required to directly manage the two allocated pitches for the Hearts Men's 1st Team Contract. They should ensure all pitch requirements are planned and documented to communicate with the Hearts Staff & also ensure the Grounds Manager is kept fully updated on all pitch work required. This is a priority to ensure the preparation and delivery of the pitches and surrounds meets the agreed Contract KPI's and SLA each year for Hearts.Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Skilled Grounds person will deliver the plan of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual pitch maintenance planning
  • The Skilled Grounds person will deliver the pitch preparation daily, weekly, monthly to the agreed KPI levels for all grass used by the Hearts Men's 1st Team Players & Coaches
  • The Skilled Grounds person will ensure all pitch equipment used is cleaned and repaired each day to ensure the equipment is fit for purpose and available to be used to maintain the pitches daily.
  • The Skilled Grounds person will communicate daily on the pitch surface and playability to the Hearts Coaches and document all KPI information for reference.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:These are the criteria on which the short-listing and recruitment selection will be based.Essential1. Educated to SCQF Level 6 (Highers) or similar or equivalent experience2. Experience of working within a similar environment as outlined above3. Experience or relevant qualifications in the grounds / pitch care industry4. Experience of working and communicating in a football environment5. Experience of supervisory experience, practice, and principles6. Good numeracy and IT skills. Competent in the use of relevant IT packages7. Well-developed people skills and ability to demonstrable professional and initiative-taking approach8. Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly, and accurately in a dynamic, changing andpressured environment9. Demonstrable provision of excellent customer serviceDesirable1. Experience of managing football pitch maintenance planning apps and or pitch testing appsrelevant catering and/or cleaning equipment2. Experience of analysing pitch growth conditions and recommending remedial maintenance to improve pitch coverage.3. Experience of FIFA Pro Pitch testing and recommendations for pitch managementrelevant catering and/or cleaning equipment4. Experience in grounds maintenance in a football pitch capacity5.
