The post holder will assist in the delivery of high quality Tuberculosis (TB) nursing services (which are accessible and responsive) throughout the Trust at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital/West Middlesex and for the Royal Brompton Hospital to minimise and reduce the impact of Tuberculosis (TB). It is an integrated service that cares for TB patients as inpatients, outpatients and in the community. The post is cross site working however a base site will be allocated.The post holder will be working alongside other clinical colleagues to provide expert individualised care, treatment and support for this patient group and their families/carers independently in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in line with local and national targets. They will play a key role within this team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated and timely approach to care.The post holder will promote excellence in nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, education, consultancy, acting as a specialist resource/role model and commit to nursing research and audit.   • First level/NMC Registered Nurse
  • Diploma/First level degree
  • Professional knowledge acquired by specialist TB course or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Extensive post registration experience at band 6 in TB
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and children including experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health and immigration issues.
  • Ability to organise, plan and prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure
Desirable
  • Independent nurse prescribing or willing to work towards
  • Experience in developing clinical standards, protocols and guidelines
  • Experience in audit and research
