
Senior Manufacturing Product Engineer

- Training Production staff on build procedures, laser alignment techniques and tooling use.
- Troubleshooting alignment, electronics, power supply, cooling and tooling issues in Production.
- Troubleshooting system issues on field returned units and care case lasers operating in the field.
- Providing technical laser expertise and support to the Production team.
- Providing technical laser expertise and support to the Service team.
- Hands-on identification and resolution of complex Production issues either independently or in collaboration with R&D as required for each issue.
- Driving the Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis process for Production issues. Creating and maintaining A3 reports for the Production, R&D, Quality teams.
- Maintaining troubleshooting guides.
- Generating corrective actions for yourself, Production, Manufacturing Engineering and R&D teams.
- First Article Inspection and testing of proposed new parts before introduction to Production.
- Occasional travel to other Coherent sites may be required.
- An engineering or science degree with relevant industrial experience working with lasers.
- Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting equipment in a production environment.
- A solid understanding of laser physics and the terminology used to characterise laser performance.
- Strong, demonstrable practical problem-solving experience is required.
- Lean trained in Practical Problem Solving.
- Ability to excel in a cross-organizational and global environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team but also confident working with your own initiative.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload and multiple projects effectively at pace.
- Ability to keep up to date with technology and apply it to current and future plans.
- Ability to achieve results independently or working with others.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with Production, Engineering and Management.
- Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Experience reading electronic circuit diagrams would be advantageous.
