As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital leadership role within our care team, ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care and support, while making sure staff feel confident, informed and valued during each shift. You will lead and coordinate shifts, setting the tone and supporting your team to deliver excellent care. You will provide hands-on personal care with dignity, compassion and respect, administer and manage medication in line with care plans and protocols, and maintain accurate records. Effective communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals and colleagues will be key to your role, as will supporting and mentoring junior care staff to promote a positive and inclusive team culture. You will also be responsible for writing and updating care plans, risk assessments and other documentation, responding calmly and promptly to emergencies, and welcoming visitors and prospective families, showing them around the home’s facilities.What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is essential
- SVQ Level 3 (or working towards it) is highly desirable
- Medication administration training with up-to-date competencies is required
- Experience in a senior care role within a residential or nursing home setting
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to delegate and mentor others
- A warm, compassionate personality with a genuine commitment to person-centred care
