Job descriptionSpeech and Language Therapist – Specialist Independent SchoolLocation: PooleSalary: £38,500 – £44,500 per annuumHours: 08:30am – 16:30pm Monday to FridayContract Type: Full-time, PermanentProspero Teaching are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist independent school that supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other associated communication difficulties. The school is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join their team.About the Role:As the school’s Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping pupils overcome communication barriers and reach their full academic and social potential. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality speech and language therapy services to both primary and secondary aged students.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the delivery of speech and language therapy across the school.
  • Carry out assessments for both current and prospective pupils.
  • Design and implement individual and group therapy programmes.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Headteacher and SENDCo to ensure EHCP provision is in place and outcomes are achieved.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, support staff, and therapy assistants.
Requirements:
  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working with children, ideally in special education or similar settings.
  • Strong understanding of speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
