- Lead the management of a commodity as well as developing talent in the team.
- Support the selection, development, and management of Suppliers to meet the commodity cost and performance goals, in accordance with Collins commodity strategy and best practices.
- Manage the plan to establish and maintain long-term relationships with Suppliers and supporting cost and performance goals.
- Manage key negotiations with suppliers.
- Identify saving opportunities (negotiations, transitions, value engineering projects, etc.) and deliver savings to the business
- Co-ordinate the collection and ensure accurate reporting of all savings/price increases for their area of responsibility
- Work with key stakeholders including Supply Chain Directors, Design Engineers, Program Directors and Product Introduction Management to coordinate sourcing decisions on new programs.
- Monitor current supplier market conditions, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges. Support the development and implementation of tactical and strategic commodity plans
- Develop long-term relationships with Strategic suppliers including at decision makers level.
