Engineering SupervisorDurhamUp to £46,000 per annumMulti-skilled | Hands-on & Strategic | ManufacturingAn established, multi-site manufacturing business with a large production facility in Durham is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their growing team.This is a key role within the Engineering Department, offering a 50/50 blend of hands-on maintenance and strategic leadership. You'll support the Engineering Manager in driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the plant.About the Engineering Supervisor Role:
  • Support the Engineering Manager in leading a team of 6 engineers
  • Lead by example across both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to boost equipment performance and reduce downtime
  • Work closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimise production flow
  • Ensure PPM schedules are adhered to and compliance standards are maintained
  • Mentor and support team members to build technical capability and a proactive culture
Ideal Candidate for the Supervisor Role:
  • Apprentice-trained or formally qualified
  • in Engineering (mechanical/electrical)
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Multi-skilled with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding
  • Capable of basic PLC fault diagnosis
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communicator and team motivator
