Working closely with our experienced teachers, you will:
  • Provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, in both individual and small group settings.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons and activities that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment, helping to manage behaviour and promote student engagement.
  • Support the social and emotional development of our students, acting as a positive role model.
  • Contribute to the ongoing assessment and recording of student progress.
  • Participate in our commitment to a holistic approach to education, which may include supporting students in off-site activities and vocational training.
About You:We are looking for an individual with a genuine desire to work with young people with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school or support setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to their work.
  • A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • A willingness to undertake training and professional development, including in positive behaviour support techniques.
While previous experience in a special educational needs setting is advantageous, it is not essential.
