- Act as First Assistant to the surgeon in the operating theatre
- Support and contribute to patient assessment, surgical planning, and perioperative care
- Promote evidence-based practice and clinical excellence
- Work collaboratively with the wider surgical and nursing team to ensure optimal outcomes
- Support junior staff development and participate in teaching/training as required
- To work as an advanced level independent practitioner under the supervision and direction of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons
- To work autonomously, using expert advanced clinical skills and competence to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge patients under the care of Consultant orthopaedic surgeons
- To support, advise and educate the nursing team and wider MDT in respect of orthopaedic patient care
- The support the delivery of safe, effective, high quality patient care in line with Spire's purpose of “making a difference to our patients lives through outstanding personalised care”
- Registered with the NMC or HCPC (RN/ODP)
- Accredited Surgical Care Practitioner qualification (PGDip or MSc level)
- Proven experience as an SCP in a range of surgical specialities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
