Contract: Ad Hoc/ Flexible – Start October 2025About the RoleTeaching Personnel is proud to be working with a fantastic secondary school in Caerleon to recruit a reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work on an ad-hoc basis. In this role, you will step into classrooms to deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on task in the absence of their usual teacher.You will provide clear instructions, manage behaviour effectively, and maintain a positive learning environment that supports pupils’ progress. This is a dynamic, ad-hoc role where every day brings something new. It’s a great opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students while gaining hands-on classroom experience.This Cover Supervisor role is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future in teaching, teaching assistants looking to progress, or anyone with experience working with young people who is keen to make a positive impact in education.Who We’re Looking for?Teaching Personnel are seeking individuals who:
  • Are patient, proactive, and value building strong rapport with students
  • Can adapt to different classroom settings by demonstrating confident behaviour management and classroom control
  • Are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Confident to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Possess knowledge of key curriculum subjects
  • Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed and take registers accurately
RequirementsTeaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • At least two professional referencescovering the past two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
