- Previous experience in clinical coding within a GP practice or healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of SNOMED CT coding and experience using a GP clinical system (e.g., EMIS Web, SystmOne).
- High attention to detail and accuracy in interpreting clinical documentation.
- Understanding of QOF, long-term condition coding, and disease registers.
- Good IT and data management skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to confidentiality and NHS information governance policies.
- NHS-recognised clinical coding qualification or evidence of relevant training.
- Experience supporting QOF and NHS performance reporting.
- Familiarity with read codes (legacy), terminology changes, and reporting tools (e.g., Ardens, Eclipse, or similar).
- Knowledge of NHS policies related to data protection, GDPR, and record management.
