- To produce labels for dispensed drugs using the JAC computer system for inpatient, outpatient, community unit, TTOs, and CDs against the relevant previously clinically checked prescription or request.
- To dispense medication for inpatient, outpatient, community unit, TTOs and CDs against the previously clinically checked prescription or request in line with departmental policies and procedures and the Medicines Act 1968 using the JAC system.
- To assist the Senior Pharmacy Technician with the day-to-day distribution of medicines from Main Pharmacy Stores including:
- Coordination and distribution of community unit requisitions.
- Ensuring all allocated top-ups and ward visits are completed in a timely manner and per schedule.
- To participate in the ward top-up scheme for the ordering, assembly, checking, delivery and stock rotation of drug supplies to wards and departments.
- To ensure the optimum use of the Automated Dispensing System and report any issues with its function when necessary.
- GCSE Level 4-9 in English and Maths or equivalent
- NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team or people orientated position
- Experience of working in a hospital environment
- Self-confident with the ability to work alone and as part of a team using common sense and initiative
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility within the working environment
- Ability to prioritise
- Word processing and use of Internet and IT skills
