Children's Support Worker - NightsAre you an experience Children's Support Worker?Have you worked with young people in care?Are you able to work waking nights?Location: Swansea and Surrounding AreasSalary: £18 per hour with holiday pay or £20.45 per hour without holiday payWe are currently seeking passionate and resilient individuals to join our team as Children's Support Workers for night shifts. This role involves providing essential support to children and young people who may have faced trauma, mental health challenges, or exhibit challenging behaviours. As such, candidates who possess the following qualifications and training are highly desirable:PBM (Positive Behaviour Management)/PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression):
  • Candidates must have completed accredited training in PBM or PMVA.
  • Ability to effectively prevent and manage challenging behaviours in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Experience in implementing de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
Team Teach:
  • Certification in Team Teach training is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in applying positive behaviour management techniques and physical intervention strategies when necessary.
  • Understanding of the importance of teamwork and collaboration in managing challenging situations.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must hold a valid driver's licence and have access to a vehicle.
  • Minimum of 6 month's experience working in a regulated children's care setting or with young people in care.
  • Familiarity with CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • An Enhanced DBS- Children and Adult - or willing to obtain
  • Registered with Social Care Wales - or willing to register
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing overnight support and care to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Building positive relationships and promoting emotional well-being.
  • Safeguarding young people- regular observations, detailed logs and documentation
  • Adhering to individualised care plans and strategies.
  • Assisting with household tasks and domestic duties.
  • Maintain and manage boundaries- Keeping consistency with rules and adhering to care plans/risk assessments
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment at all times.
