We are currently seeking a passionate Primary Cover Supervisor to work within primary schools across Coventry & Warwickshire This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students in a supportive and dynamic environment.The Role:As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Lead classroom lessons in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning
- Manage classrooms effectively, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement
- Use pre-prepared lesson materials, assist pupils with tasks, and respond to their questions appropriately
- Safely handle emergencies and follow school policies and procedures
- Collect, record, and return completed work, providing detailed feedback on pupil engagement and performance
- Deliver cover lessons across Key Stages 1 & 2, following plans left by the class teacher
- Create a positive, structured learning environment through clear routine and behaviour management
- Liaise with teachers to update on pupil progress, behaviour, and any other relevant issues
- Support learners and conduct learning activities e.g., small group work
- Maintain classroom order and organisation, ensuring resources are available and appropriately used
- Participate in department/school meetings and CPD sessions
- Essential:
- Degree in Education, Childcare, or a related field (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience working in UK primary school settings—ideally across multiple year-groups
- Strong classroom management skills, especially in delivering lessons in teacher absence
- Excellent spoken and written English; good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Enhanced DBS clearance and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
- Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or Cover Supervision
- Experience with SEND/EAL pupils or Key Stage assessments
- Willingness to support additional duties (e.g., break/lunch supervision, resource prep)
