Maintenance Engineers – Contract Opportunities
  • Immediate contract work for experienced Maintenance Engineers
  • Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and surrounding areas
  • Mainly 12-hour shifts, with occasional 8-hour shifts
  • Day and night shifts available
We are seeking skilled Maintenance Engineers who are available for contract work for the rest of 2025. Wagstaff Recruitment partners with a core group of manufacturing clients who require continuous engineering support to maintain their 24/7 production facilities.As this is contract shift cover within large organisations, most of our opportunities are inside IR35. We operate our own PAYE payroll system and also work with compliant Umbrella companies.Current requirements include:
  • Engineers to work mainly 12-hour shifts supporting increased production and sickness cover, with occasional 8-hour shifts.
  • Additional part-time shifts for those seeking flexible hours or extra shifts.
  • Permanent Maintenance Engineering roles, paying up to £55,000 – electrical skills essential.
Typical Contract Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Responding to day-to-day breakdowns and implementing preventative measures.
  • Supporting commissioning of new plant equipment and efficient running of existing plant.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Completing accurate maintenance records in line with company procedures.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Apprenticeship trained in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Previous experience within food manufacturing is highly desirable, though not essential.
