Vehicle Mechanic (LGV / Car)Reading£18ph to £20phNEOS Engineering are currently working with a large plant companies that specialise in Aggregates and Recycling, who are looking for an experienced Vehicle Mechanic / Light Goods Vehicle (LGV) Mechanic to join the team, working on vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.   • Carrying out routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre replacements.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and other key components.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, including conducting pre-MOT inspections and addressing any required work.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and carry out on-site repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and service logs for each vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with customers or fleet managers regarding repair needs and costs.
The Candidate:
  • You’re reliable, skilled, and ready to take on a hands-on role maintaining light goods vehicles, with a professional and approachable manner. You’ll have proven experience working on light goods vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes), with a sound understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. You should be familiar with using diagnostic equipment and a wide range of tools.
  • While not essential, the ideal candidate will also be a qualified MOT tester, capable of conducting MOT tests.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
