We have an exciting opportunity to join our engineering centre in Newport to ensure the operation runs smoothly, customer expectations are met and all motors and gearboxes are repaired to high engineering standards.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer who also has experience of working closely with customers to identify new and build on current sales opportunities. Undertaking some of the repair work yourself this role will be hands on as well as supporting to set the direction for sources of future work and overseeing and ensuring planned maintenance and ad hoc requests are completed to customer expectations and engineering standards.

The role holder will be required to play a key part in supporting our branches and sites with their repairs and service requirements by working alongside internal and external teams.

We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer with knowledge of Industrial Gearboxes and Motors and be multi skilled in basic Electrical Practices. Not only do we need someone technically competent but also needs to be able to identify opportunities for sales growth and build strong relationships with customers to build on and bring additional business to the centre.

Key Responsibilities:

To work with the external sales team and local management on the opportunities within the customer base.

Develops good working relationships with relevant stakeholders

Achievement of Sales & Margin targets for the assigned site

Responsible for ensuring engineering standards are adhered to.

Where appropriate, maintenance of Brammer Buck and Hickman owned and Customer owned stock and product in a saleable condition, retaining traceability.

Performing planned and predictive maintenance. Using various basic diagnostic tools.

Key Skills:

Experienced Mechanical Engineer.

It is preferred that the role holder have knowledge of;

Process Pumps

Belt and Chain Drives and their Application

Couplings and their Application

Able to build relationships

Strong customer facing and communication skills
