Job Title: SEND Classroom SupportLocation: CroydonWorking Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM - September StartAbout Us: We are working with an inclusive school located in the Croydon area, committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all our students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.Job Description: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with autism, ADHD, and physical disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting in the educational and social development of students.
  • Providing one-on-one support to children with special educational needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment.
  • Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of each student.
  • Supporting students in developing social skills and managing their behavior.
  • Helping with personal care tasks as needed.
Key Attributes:
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with autism and physical disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Experience:
  • Previous experience working with children with autism is essential. This can include personal experience.
  • Experience in a school or nursery setting is preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desired.
  • Nursery Nurse qualification is also preferred.
