The students present with additional needs (autism, ADHD) and there are elements of trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
This role would be ideal for graduates, and those with an interest in supporting young people who need that little bit extra!
Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.
These students are disengaged from mainstream education, and generally struggle with confidence and focus.Role Overview:Position: Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Contract Type: Full Time
Minimum Rate of Pay: £96 P/D
Working Hours: 0830 – 1530As a Teaching Assistant, you will:Provide Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, adapting materials, and ensuring a positive learning environment.
Individualised Support: Work closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing targeted assistance during class activities.
Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies, promoting positive interactions and emotional regulation.
Collaborate with Staff: Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.Requirements:Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH students or in alternative education settings is advantageous.
Empathy: Ability to connect with students, demonstrating patience and understanding.
Adaptability: Flexibility in responding to individual needs and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
