12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TAThis is a crystallography Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Schofield group and the Ineos Oxford Institute for antimicrobial research (IOI).The institute aims to combat antimicrobial resistance via a multidisciplinary approach. The successful candidate will complement the medicinal chemistry, microbiology and biochemical teams with protein crystallography expertise. The postholder will generate key structural and biophysical data to support the design of small molecule inhibitors with particular focus on protein production and crystallisation, solving protein-ligand structures, fragment screening (XChem), PDB deposition and biophysical techniques including SPR, DSF and NMR.Applicants must hold a PhD in Biochemistry / Biophysics / Chemical Crystallography or a related field (or have submitted a PhD thesis prior to taking up the appointment). Have extensive expertise in solving and refining protein-ligand/fragment structures (e.g using CCP4, Phoenix, Pymol) and PDB deposition and be willing to learn new techniques and apply them in an interdisciplinary research environment.Application ProcessApplications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your application.
