As a freelance Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the project from start to finish, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. You will be the main point of contact for the client, contractors, and subcontractors, and will be responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time and within budget. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced professional to contribute to the growth of renewable energy projects in the UK.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the construction and commissioning of the HVDC transmission system for the renewable energy project, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standardsManage the project from start to finish, including coordination of contractors and subcontractors, tracking progress, and resolving issuesEnsure that the project is delivered on time and within budget, including monitoring project expenses and reporting on progress to the project team and managementMaintain strong relationships with the client, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring that all parties are meeting the project's requirements and expectationsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project schedules are met and projects are delivered within budgetConduct regular audits of the construction and commissioning processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actionsEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations and other relevant standardsManage the documentation related to the construction and commissioning activities, ensuring that all records are accurate, complete, and up-to-dateParticipate in project meetings and provide regular updates on project activities and issuesQualifications:At least 8 years of experience in HVDC project management, preferably in the renewable energy industry in the UKKnowledge of relevant regulations and procedures related to HVDC transmission systems in the renewable energy industryDemonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of contractors and subcontractorsExcellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsFluency in English (both written and verbal)Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines and changing prioritiesEducation and Certifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field is preferredCertification in project management/health and safetyWorking Conditions:This is a freelance position for the duration of the renewable energy project, expected to be 12-18 months in lengthWork is conducted on-site at the renewable energy project, with some work in an office settingWork schedules may vary and require weekend or overtime work, as needed
