You'll have genuine ownership of mechanical design projects and the chance to shape products that help drive the UK’s transition to net zero.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGAs a Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of our heat pump technologies. Reporting to the Design Manager, your main responsibilities will include:Leading the mechanical and product design of innovative heat pump systems.Taking technical ownership of designs from concept through to market launch.Defining and developing product specifications aligned with performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.Producing detailed 3D CAD drawings (ideally Siemens NX), manufacturing documentation, and service data.Selecting materials and tolerances to ensure thermal, environmental, and cost efficiency.Collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams.Supporting risk analysis, FMEA, and certification processes.Applying DFM/DFA principles to streamline production and improve serviceability.Contributing to both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Improvement Programmes (CIP).WHAT YOU'LL BRINGWe're looking for a proactive engineer with a passion for innovation and sustainable technologies. You should have:A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline).Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally involving refrigeration cycles, heat exchangers, or thermal systems.Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably Siemens NX).A sound understanding of the full product development lifecycle.A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate clearly across teams.Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.A high level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to design.Experience working with heat pump or HVAC systems would be a significant advantage.WHAT YOU'LL GET✅ Purposeful work - Be part of a team shaping the UK’s clean energy future.
