College of Biomedical and Life SciencesThis is an exciting opportunity to be a member of a National Institute for Health and Care Research-funded study team, which aims to understand safety, risks and the balances of harms and benefits arising from care received by patients within their own homes. The study is led by Professor Andrew Carson-Stevens, Professor of Patient Safety, at Cardiff University.The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Andrew Carson-Stevens and colleagues from the School of Medicine, the School of Law and Politics, and the Centre for Adult Social Care Research (CARE) at Cardiff University, our public contributors, ENRICH Cymru and University College London.The Clinical Research Fellow will work with the study team and will review health and wellbeing safety notifications and analyse these reports to characterise what is being reported by professionals working in the social care sector.Applicants should be on the General Medical Council register and GP Register and be in good standing and will require a DBS check prior to commencing their role. Research
- To independently develop research objectives within this home-based care study. To develop research networks through regular national/international conference/seminar presentations
- To generate and pursue independent and original research ideas in the field of research and support the initiation of new lines of research in related areas
- To disseminate research findings using appropriate and effective national and international publications, research seminars, meetings and conferences
- To build and create networks both internally and externally to the university, to influence decisions, explore future research requirements, and share research ideas for the benefit of research projects
- To participate in School research activities.
- To engage effectively with industrial, commercial and public sector organisations, professional institutions, other academic institutions etc., regionally and nationally to raise awareness of the School's profile, to cultivate strategically valuable alliances, and to pursue opportunities for collaboration across a range of activities. These activities are expected to contribute to the School and the enhancement of its regional and national profile.
